July 27th, Wed - official opening of CASO

Today is the day of the Official Opening day of CASO. So it is a extremely tiring day. My day started at around 6.35am when I woke up. Cheng picked me up at around 6.50am & then headed for Thomas's place & Netpolitan before moving on to CASO.

For me, at the beginning of the day, I am feeling a little excited but this feelings were kind of killed at around 9am something when my mum called & broke the news that my uncle who is a PR in Canada passed away because of heart attack. Because of this, my aunt & cousins who came back from US for visit will cut their trip short - they are flying back as soon as they get to book the next flight, which means I probably won't be able to meet my cousins =(

Anyway, what I did today? Many things.. Cut the numbers for lucky draw, passed out booklet to customers/visitors, helped carry out plates, helped arranging plates, forks & spoons for the VIP table, helped Thomas into the BlueHyppo suit, was kind of in charge of the only-one-set-keys of Bosss' room, eat of course, installed programs on another computer, helped in the hanging balloon process, some VIP asked me to get him straws.., sweep floor, wash plates, etc etc.. in no particular order. I was even asked by Boss wife to be the emcee during the 2nd lucky draw session. I went & hid behind the counters when she wasn't looking in hope that she can't find me & will ask someone else to do it. She found me anyway & I-the-stage-fright-girl, have to go & announce the numbers of the damn lucky draw.

Anyway, I did have some fun overall. Still okay la. Better than cramming my head for exams. I did get to go home early (reach home around 5pm, Kenny fetched this time) & I got some goodies.. hehehee..

I'm tired & worn out that when I went out for dinner, I forgotten to take my access card for the gates downstairs & my keys. Thank god sJ stays in the same block as me, so the access card is the same & thank god he has a set of my house & room keys (for emergency purpose) so I'm not that locked-out after all.. hahah..

July 26th, Tues - another tiring day

It is indeed one. In the office - served customers, answer tons of phone calls, help to arrange, fold & staple the booklets for the Official Opening of CASO later.., etc etc... Thought can go home at 7pm! It killed a part of me when Cheng broke the news at 6.30pm that all of us have to head down to CASO to help get ready for the event.

In CASO, I helped to pack up the gift for customers, help wrap up a tiny little bit of a present for the lucky draw, helped installed some programs on one of the computer, etc etc.. The worse bit? I was helping one of my colleagues to type & print out some price tags. We command-ed then program to print out the price tags when the stupid printer decided to hang on us. Couldn't fix the problem, so I called for Cheng, who then restarted the printer. Then my colleague put in a color paper for the price tags & the printer started printing. But when the ppaer come out, it wasn't what we wanted. The thing that came out was Boss' speech. I looked for him to give him that but couldn't find him. I asked his wife & she told me he went out. When he came back, I gave it to him. He asked me if I read it, which I replied no to. Then he asked me to read it & see got mistakes or not, ask me to correct them. Me? Stunned. Why? Cause I don't know how la. Correct Boss's speech wor. I scared later I correct liao, don't know is it better also. Worse, I scared I make mistakes instead of correcting. So I corrected a bit using pencil, writing timidly, the pencil mark so light... haha.. Then I read again. Unsatisfied, I correct some mistakes again. Then I read again & I correct again .. blablabla... Later, I passed Boss speech back to him. He asked me why I write in pencil. Later he read can't see. He asked me to go write again using pen. So off I go with his speech again, this time, to mark it using the pen.. blablabla..

Cheng dropped me off in UA at nearly 12am (again!). Then I went for dinner@supper with sJ. Finally got home at 1am. Sigh... Later have to wake up early also.. Cheng picking me up at 7am. We're suppose to be in CASO by 8am to get ready for the event... It's one hell of a tiring day. So will it be later.. Do come hop down to CASO tomorrow. The Opening Ceremony commence at 10am. July 25th, Mon - new toy & the obsessive me

Not many customers today. But don't know why when I am in a hurry to leave the office at 7pm, the phone couldn't stop ringing & one after another customers came in. I ended up talking really fast to the customers & left 5 mins later. So what did I do today? I helped type out a notice that is going to be stuck on Netpolitan doors on Wednesday (last Saturday it was typing out 5 pages of TM Net crap.., which my colleagues say that it's a waste I don't become a typist cause I can type so fast), I fooled around with my new toy in the office as you can read in the posts before, served some customers (both in the office & on the phone - talking bout phones.. why do some people talk so soft on the phone? I can hardly hear them.. it's like they're muttering under their breath.. grr..).. blablabla..

I think I'm starting to get obsessive... with cleaning the toilet. I really don't know why. Just now the toilet floor was a little dirty & out came the brush, me scrubbing the floors. What is wrong with me?? Before I ever started cleaning the toilet (that is before this sem), I've never been bothered to clean the toilet before & suddenly I find myself cleaning it every other week. Is something wrong with me? Why am I obsessed with cleaning the damn toilet? Hmm..

Anyway, I shall stop here.. I want to go play with my new toy.. =P

DKU-5

Stupid CD that comes with this can throw away liao. Useless!! Waste my time... I spent nearly 3 hours installing & uninstalling this crap to make sure that the cable can work with my phone. Was going to give up when I thought about downloading PC Suite from Nokia website. After downloading the DKU-5 & Nokia PC Suite 6.6, tried install. It worked la. Geezz...

July 23rd, Sat

My day today? Quite okay la. Very few customers today, phone call also not that much & that is nice.. really =) But got 2 yeeh mun (demanding) customer today.

Ordered a Nokia data cable (DKU-5) today. There is not much money in my wallet today.. ended up putting a deposit of RM5 only. Thank God the guy accepted. Should be getting my latest gadget (so cham.. this one already call my new gadget) on Monday, or latest Tuesday. After nearly a year holding my faithful Nokia 3200 (yala yala... I know I not that hi-tech, use though hami 3G blablabla eh handphone la. I know mine is considered quite outdated, but I am quite thankful for this hp already. Got people still using non-colour one somemore cham.. Hehehe...

Walked home after lunch to cook porridge for sJ.. Scared he nothing to eat, then cincai eat, not good also la. Blablabla...

Anyway, before I forget, this week I had learn about Wireless Technology. There are 3 altogether:- Mibcomm, Conopy & Cirronet (I'm not sure if the spellings are correct). For the first two, it runs on network cable & can be shared out. Meanwhile, for Cirronet, it uses USB (not exactly sure how, can't remember liao) & if want to share out, have to do through server. However, the line may be unreliable as there may be disturbance (like Astro service), depending on the weather. In Malacca, only the Cirronet service is available. There are 2 base, 1 is in MMU & the other is umm... I can't remember where it is liao.. So, those of you (especially MMU Malacca students) staying in Bukit Beruang area who can't get Streamyx service due to port full, perhaps can try Cirronet.

I know I said I will talk about the official opening of CASO in this post, but I am just too lazy now la... perhaps later.. =P

July 21st, Thurs - weird irritating customers

Why are customers so irritating sometimes? It gets worse everytime. Why can't they uunderstand simple things?

There was a guy who called up. He said he is Mr. X (don't want mention his name here la), then he ask me, do I know who he is. Obviously I do not know who is him la. What la. Even if I have serve you before, I can't remember every single customer la. Imagine a worker who meets like at least 5 customers per day. How likely it would be to remember all of them?

Anyway, I told him Nope, I do not know who he is. Then he started describing when he come la, this & that. Then he ask again, do I know him. Argghhh... Again, I repeated myself, No. So he asked for the malay girl that he spoke to, that served him. I told him that she is not in today as she has seminar. Then he went on describing his case, which I have absolutely no idea about. zero. zilch. So I said I am not sure as I am not the person who handle his case. Then he ask me to check, to which I reply I do not know where the file is or what-so-ever. Then he asked me for the malay girl's phone number. I told him I do not have it (I really don't) & that even if he contact her she won't be able to check or do anything about it as she can't check with the system or file which is in the office. He went on blabbing about how he just want to know his status. C'mon la uncle, people got no computer there with her, how she going to check? Plus, she is busy with her seminar thingy, else why would she be on leave. He is just so annoying. Finally I gave him the number to the new office as to call Ally on his request. I think he probably call her & bugged her with the same questions. Sigh. Some people just do not understand.

The weirder thing is that people has a tendency to come in & ask for reload cards. I mean phone reload cards, not TMNet Prepaid reload cards. Since I started my training here, I think at least 10 people have came by asking that. 2 person did so today. The first was a Malay woman who came in & ask Ada jual Digi reload? (Got sell Digi reload?). The second was funnier. It was a chinese guy. He was looking outside the shop for quite sometime before he came in quickly through the door & took a seat. As he open his wallet to take out money (presumely to pay for the reload), he said Give me a RM30 Hotlink reload (in Chinese). Then, me & Thomas (there was only the 2 of us there) went blur for awhile before telling him that we don't sell reload & that next door only got. Blushing, he quickly got up & went off. The look on his face was funny though.

Basically today was all about serving customer. I am starting to a hang of this serving customer thingy. But sometimes, I just can't answer their questions. Sigh. It's not like I choose not to answer. Haha.. So most of the time, I have to ask the customer to wait a moment while I get the answer(s) from someone.

Hmm... Family happenings..
1) My 12 yr old cousin, Charlotte is recovering from her operation. She fell down while pigging backing her lil 3 yr old sis in church & hurt her chin pretty bad. My mum told me she had to undergo op & plastic surgery for that. The one consolation is that she held on tight to her sis when she was fell or else her sis would be severely hurt. Hope she's healing nicely & fast =)
2) How I was sick, had fever & came up with a RM100 bill.
3) My sis & mum is in the battle of sis-wants-to-go-to-Singapore-to-work-but-mum-don't-want-her-to. Oh, & today, mum finally questioned me if I know anything about it (I do not know why she waited so long. It has been at least 2 or 3 weeks since sis's 1st interview) & now they're kind of putting me in the middle. Gosh, as if being the middle kid is not hard enough :p
4) My aunt's (mum of my fav lil cousin) family's moving house tomorrow. They're moving to a oh-so-nice-3-storey house. Seriously how nice? I don't know yet. I've only seen it once & that is before renovation. Kind of interesting to me. I always wonder what it's like living in a slightly different kind of house - in this case, a 3 store house. Must be fun to live in there, going up & down those stairs.. hahaha.. Hope to see it soon. Must be nice place.. cause my dad did the renovation ma =P Hahahaa...
5) Hoping to go back to see my American cousins. It has been years (at least 6 or 7 years I think) since I last saw them. Hopefully they don't go somewhere this weekend & Boss will let me take at least half day leave this Saturday so I can go back to see them.

While I am still ranting, I do not know how come I have hooligans as neighbours. Damn those people who rent these people the apartment. They're damn noisy!!!! The other day, they were outside my room (my room is like the most outside one, have window above facing outside) smoking & puffing away with loud music. Damn smokes came into my room. I really hate those smoke smell.. Arghhh.. Now they're making noise like it's only them staying in this block. Well, let me jam up my woofer for some payback..

July 20th, Wed

Hmmm.. What is wrong with me.. Lately when I type the date, I tend to type June instead of July lehh.. When I got to the e in June, I was like Ehh.. not Jul mehh? Then I look at the calender on the computer to double confirm.. Haihh.. Crazy liao perhaps.

Working on my project, still trying to solve the update/security/cache problem. A lot of customers coming by. Everytime I start thinking properly on my project, out of nowhere a customer appear.. Bo pian (No choice) have to serve them first... Then by the time they left, I, being a person with such a short-term-memory, forgotten what I was doing liao. By the tie I remember & want to work on it, another customer appear.. & this keeps happening... Annoying lerr...

My computer has been working like super slow.. Have been wanting to get another stick of RAM to quicken up. Finally did bought one during the Tech Time. It's Kingston DDRAM, cost me RM95. After I bought it (& at home already la..), I was bored, while going through it's phamplet/booklet/instruction paper, found a web address to check its authenticity. Being bored & a bit kiasu, I went & check la... Hahaha.. Got a verfication sent to my e-mail that it is indeed a genuine Kingston memory lo..

July 16th, Sat - Tech Time

MMU Engineering Society organized Tech Time, supposingly selling elctronic/electrical (hmm.. what was the word they used?) stuff, from July 15th til July 17th. I am on duty today - with Cheng & Thomas. Quite a noisy & pack place to be. However, it's a really small venue - the Exam Hall.

Anyway, bought some Imation Thematic CDRs. 50 for me & 50 for sis. A bundle of 50 cost RM34, plus you get extra free 5 CDRs. I asked the person if they can give discount or not if I buy 100, but they say cannot wor.. cause already so cheap, plus got free CDRs ma.. Instead they gave me 2 pens... *eyes crossed*. sJ bought a spindle of Imation DVDRs & a DVDRW. He wants to buy a DVD burner soon, perhaps tomorrow, if he can get one cheaply @reasonable price. Meanwhile, I am hunting for DDRAM. Hoping against hope that before closing tomorrow, the price will drop & I get to buy one. My computer really needs the extra RAM..

Arghh.. my back aches.. damn..

Tah-daa.. After seeing so many bloggers using AdSense & even manage to chalk up money, I decided to use it too. I registered 2 days ago & received an e-mail.. Apparently they want to have a look at your webpage before deciding whether or not to let you put up AdSense on you web. This morning I received an e-mail, approving me to put up AdSense. =)
