Bad experience with KTM
I took the KTM train from Taman Tasik Selatan to Seremban today and it's the worse ride I ever had.
First of all, we were suppose to be at Track 1. I was there for at least 15 minutes when a train came by on Track 2. It says "Seremban". Suddenly some people from Track 1 started running up the stairs and down the other side while some others were blurred by what was happening. I was one of the blur ones. Then the train went off. Suddenly a girl asked me "did we just missed the 'Seremban' train?". I was totally confused as Track 1 destination IS suppose to be Seremban.
No announcement was made the whole 15 minutes I was there stating that we need to be on Track 2 to board the train to Seremban. There was only signboard noting that those heading for Seremban should be on Track 1. They should at least announce it frequently if we do need to be on Track 2 to head towards Seremban due to what-so-ever-problem on Track 1. At least announce it a minute or two before the train arrives la!! Or if you're just too freaking lazy to keep announcing it, you could at least post an "announcement" sign/notice at the counters where people purchase tickets or at least have the ticket seller inform us where (which track) we need to be.
10 minutes later after that train left, then the announcement came. Guess what? It was damn BLUR lor!! Very inaudible. I myself could not hear properly what the person was saying. The girl who spoke to me earlier manage to grasp and off we went to Track 2. By the way, the announcement was made in Bahasa Melayu too. Excuse me, but I don't think only Bahasa-Melayu-educated people board the KTM trains right? They should totally announce it in English. There were foreigners there who was pretty blur by all the commotion. Of course la hor... They don't understand Bahasa Melayu la!
So there we were on Track 2 for like 30 minutes before another announcement came, informing us that problem resolved, those heading towards Seremban should get back to Track 1. We were like fools; from missing the train cause we were at Track 1 because they did not announce prior to arrival of the train that we should be on Track 2; to walking from Track 1 to Track 2; and then back.
I wasted almost an hour there waiting for that stupid train, which finally arrived. Oh, and then the air con was NOT FUNCTIONING at the last coach. The train was already packed people. They only decided to announce it at the next station, where people scrambled to get to the coach in front (including me). But you know what? It was too packed with people that it was sooo hot that I decided to stay in the last coach. At least I have a seat. By the time I arrived in Seremban, I was sweating. It was like being in a sauna. I was so glad when I got off the train. The air outside was so much much more cooler.
Another thing. Guess what? I could have NOT bought the ticket. I still have the ticket with me. They did not check the ticket at the entrance. They did not collect the ticket at the exit. What is wrong with this people?! This is the second time (first time was about 2-3 months ago) I actually got on board and left the station without any checking at the entrance or collection at the exit. We were suppose to go by machines but the one at the entrance was faulty. At the exit, they just let us walk by wherever we want to, including NOT passing by the machine. I'm not so idiotic to not buy a ticket but people can slip in and out la.. DUH!
And also, 30 minutes between trains is a really horrible wait, what more with such a hot weather. Plus, they're not always punctual. KTM should totally look up to Rapid KL in terms of services. They have tracks running almost throughout Malaysia but the service is not up to standard.
I am merely ranting of my frustrations with such services provided.
